I see huge potential for great storytelling in this series. Everyone has their own motivation to become a Kagura but they're all still students. It would be great to see them continue down their path as shinobi graduates going on real missions.
The issue with a big change like that the style and progression of the story and gameplay would be different from the existing game formula. Changed can be hard and not everyone is open to it.
So, what if Senran Kagura continued with the next generation of shinobi students and the same game formula and style we know and love, meanwhile. A new series starting the now graduated shinobi. The new series "Kagura Wars" (working title) could be more focused on missions and battling Yoma, now that their training is finished, they're on the job for real and reaching closer and closer to their dream of Kagura.
Let me know what you guys think.

Really? Did nobody find this even the slightest bit interesting?

Prolly cause it wasn't under the Senran Kagura section, where people check more often. I think we're gonna see more spin-off type stuff, like EV and hopefully the post-graduation Ikaruga/Katsuragi game Takaki talked about once.

Really? Did nobody find this even the slightest bit interesting? Don't worry, I know your pain.Regardless, the series' future right now is...kinda foggy. This is the first time in 2 years that the fanbase hasn't really had anything to look forward to, so I'm hoping we get some news soon...

Well, one of the strongest points of the story in past games was learning all the characters backstorys but any new games won't be able to lean on backstory any more. At this point the story can only go forward. I definitely see a lot of potential for series plot progression. The question is: will it's potentially be realized? Hopefully we'll get some answers later this year.

By this point, Senran Kagura has gone so far with its story development (not saying "plot" for obvious reasons) that it seems unavoidable but to move forward. I would definitely love to see a Senran Kagura game where the Senrans finally battle the Youma and not other shinobi factions. Because now the series has introduce the "queen" of the Youma known as Shin, and it just oozes possibilities of being the series' concluding final boss. Just imagine, the Senrans fight an epic battle against Shin to finally put an end to the Youma threat once and for all. But at the same time, I feel that this is not gonna happen. Takaki is all fanservice so he'll likely just reboot the series and retcon anything it has developed just so he can stick with the fanservice premise. Only time will tell.

Shoot! I forgot about the "plot" memes. Yeah, maybe that wasn't the best word to use but you know what I meant.
While, yes Takaki is the "righteous boob producer" he has stated on multiple occasions that fanservice alone can not sustain a series. A series needs to have substance, whether it be for gameplay or plo... I mean story. I'm confident that he understands that keeping the story and characters engaging is crucial to the series' success. It should be very interesting to see where the series goes for here.

I think senran kagura 3 is just over the horizon. It's inevitable I think. What I'm looking forward to is a bit more conflict between all the rivals. Like have them actually get mad at each other or something Haha. You guys are right about the whole back story aspect, but I think they got more up their sleeves. We shall see.

If they are at a brick wall for stories for the main groups, they can start making games based on thr New Wave girls. I would love to see a game featuring Milky Pop and A.R.C. Angels.
