www.siliconera.com/2017/01/13/japans-nintendo-switch-lineup-story-seasons-tales-dragon-quest-xi/First off, Zelda is a launch title. They saved that little announcement for last at last night's big presentation. We're also getting a port of Mario Kart 8 with new content, including Inklings and a Splatoon course. Splatoon 2 is coming out in the Summer, and Super Mario Odyssey will be the big release for the Holiday season. We've also got a lot of other stuff coming for this system. Dragon Quest X and XI, we already knew about, but now it has been confirmed that Dragon Quest Heroes I & II are being ported over to the Switch as a collection. Shin Megami Tensei is getting a new game on the Switch and it will be running on Unreal Engine 4. We are also getting a brand-new installment in the Xenoblade series, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and a Warriors game based on the Fire Emblem franchise. There is also a remake of Street Fighter II titled Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers that will feature the addition of Evil Ryu and Violent Ken as well as a new graphics option allowing you to switch between a modern look and the classic one, and ports of I Am Setsuna, Disgaea 5, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, and the most recent installments in Koei Tecmo's strategy series, Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Nobunaga's Ambition. Sega has also confirmed that both of their upcoming Sonic titles, Project Sonic 2017 and Sonic Mania, are being released on the Switch. There is a Skyrim port, and Arc System Works has announced BlazBlue and New Frontier Days for the system. Minecraft and Minecraft Story Mode are also being released for the Switch. 2K Games is also bringing over the NBA 2K series to the console beginning with NBA 2K18, set for release this September. Personally, I'm excited for a lot of this. I'm hoping that I will be able to get a Switch as soon as possible for a lot of these games. Probably not all of them, but there is a lot that appeals to me, and the simple fact that both Dragon Quest and Shin Megami Tensei will have a presence on this console has me sold. What do you all think? Do you think this is good stuff for Nintendo, or are you understandably still a little skeptical after the Wii U? Feel free to leave your thoughts.

For someone that's not a huge Nintendo guy (even tho I'm guilty of owning much of their modern console linups), and reeling from the failure of the Wii U, I gotta say, I'm impressed. It seems they're taking the Sony route when it comes to pricing and stuff (paid online services), but I like the linup of games.
I'm sold on Arms, Mario Odyssey and Zelda. Only complaint is that I wish there were more third party games being developed as well, but the other concern I had, and I just thought about this - I'm seriously hoping Nintendo tries to curb on poor quality indie games. That was one of the biggest flaws for the Wii and Wii U was the indie games made by people wanting to make a quick buck. I digress, tho.
I hope I get to see some games that take advantage of the system, but overall, I'm pumped. I may get it as a b-day present, or I might get it the next year or so. Depends on what games are gonna be released.

I'm actually interested to see how Arms will turn out personally. If it's good or not, and how the concept works. Although something else I forgot to mention is a new Bomberman game in development for the Switch as a launch title. I want that!

I think ARMS looks really interesting and its use of motion controls makes me hopeful for a continuation of FPS games like Metroid Prime 3 for the system.
Pumped for Dragon Quest games getting on the system, since I may hold off on getting Heroes II for PS4 and get it for Switch instead. Then there is DQXI which I will get day 1 regardless.
Then there's No More Heroes 3. Suda51 confirmed he was directing the game (first time in 10 years!) so it already sounds promising.
Mario Odyssey as of right now is going to be the system seller for me... it's a shame that it isn't coming out until holidays. The return of 64/Sunshine exploration is great news and feels like the Mario game we should have received on the Wii U.
Zelda... not sure if I want to get it for Switch or Wii U. I may wait until I get some better confirmation on the actual differences between the two versions.
I guess my only real negative is the price for the controllers are rather high.

Yeah I am indeed going to get it for my Birthday since I feel it just needs time. Which I can see why Breath of the Wild being a launch title is a rather smart move.
I shall be waiting patiently, for the SMT game that's coming for it.

I'm personally very much looking forward to Breath of the Wild & Mario Odyssey. BotW looks incredibly beautiful every single time they show it, & I'm excited to finally play it. As for Mario, I'm really looking forward to finally play a new Mario game in the style of 64 & Sunshine again. I just wish it wasn't a holiday title. I'm also passively interested in 1 2 Switch & Arms. I'm interested to see what exactly they have to offer & how fun they'll be to play. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also sound like fun, & I'll probably get it at some point. Other things like Rayman Legends, Disgaea 5 Complete, & The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth are also cool to see on the Switch, although I'm not sure if I'll get any of them. My only real issue is the payed online & the price of the controllers. I don't really like having to pay extra to play multiplayer, but I guess it's not too surprising considering that's what everyone's doing. Also, while I dislike the price of the controllers, with all of the technology that's being put into them, I guess I can understand it a little bit.

The HD Rumble seems to be a big part of it. I think maybe Takaki was talking about that before.

I'm super excited for the Switch, and super bummed I cant afford one at launch lol. Mario Odyssey looks fantastic and I'm really digging it. Spla2n is a given and the first one was great, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is solid, FE Warriors should be good. I'm quite satisfied with my Wii U, so I should be with the Switch as well. Really looking forward to getting one.

I totally forgot to mention Fire Emblem Warriors & Xenoblade Chronicles 2! Ever since Koei Techmo said that they wanted to do a Fire Emblem Warriors game, I was totally on board, so I'm incredibly excited that they're actually doing it. The only thing I worry about is making the characters feel unique like in Hyrule Warriors. I'd like for a highly expansive & varied roster, but I'd also like for them to avoid making them feel too similar like I imagine they might. Xenoblade 2 was also a welcome surprise. I really enjoyed the first one & X, so I'm looking forward to this one. I'm not too sure how I feel about that art style, though. It looks a bit more anime than the first one. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but the change in style is gonna take some getting used to.

I'm concerned that the majority of characters will be from Awakening and Fates. I mean... I know they are the latest hotness but Fire Emblem is a series that boasts huge casts of characters per title. Gimme Lyn and Hector at least.

I honestly wouldn't mind too much if they just drew from those games, but I do agree that they should also utilize characters from the rest of the series. I think what I'm more worried about is that they'd just draw from the main characters, & most of them are relatively similar in terms of their fighting style. Although now that I think about it, there's a ton of different classes that they can draw from that could each play differently, so maybe I shouldn't be too worried.
There's apparently going to be a Fire Emblem Direct on the 18th, so we should learn more about it then.

Honestly, I can see them picking and choosing a few characters from each title for the base roster and then adding more through DLC, like they're doing with Musou Stars.

Unfortunately for FE Warriors I'm pretty sure they'll just rip from the Dating Emblem games. As long as I get Ike I'm happy. Though if we get mostly Fates characters, then blegh. Fates was incredibly underwhelming.

I really don't see that happening, to be honest. I'm pretty certain that they would want to draw from all corners of the franchise, while still crafting a story worthy of the series' name.
