Yea it really would get more sales, veterans would get it for the new stuff, more newcomers would be interested in it. easy money for Atlus without needing the time and money it would take to make a Persona 6. I bought P3P physical and digital as thanks for including female main character option to play as. yea some P5 fans are against the idea, but I think they would warm up to it if Atlus makes it happen in a new edition of Persona 5 on ps4. it shouldn't be some mere "golden" edition, it should be like P3P, except on console and P5 production values. www.reddit.com/r/Persona5/comments/64fbck/the_lack_of_option_for_a_female_protagonist_is/imgur.com/gallery/0gDTAFire Emblem Awakening and Fates greatly benefitted featuring female MC, as did Skyrim and any game that includes female main character option, it's better to have both than only one. and it's not like Persona 4 case where the Izanagi lore limits the type of MC. Like P3, P5 can have female MC added in a definitive edition of the game on PS4. heck, even if they made it happen on Switch, I would buy a Switch for Persona 5 with good designed female main character to play as. the 9 years or so period of putting P5 together is over, now they can update it for female main character, it's just a matter of Atlus choosing to do so. plus it would open the franchise to a wide demographic of potential customers and new fans. Like, even learn from Pokemon, Pokemon wouldn't make as much money as they do now thanks to female main character option, and Pokemon evolved from being a boys game, to being a boys and girls game, and Pokemon devs understood that importance since Crystal, and made it standard for their series. sure, Persona series has vast more complex social system, but P3P proved it can be done, and Atlus is making more money now than back then, so they can afford to give back to the female fanbase (and fans in general that would like female MC) with a definitive edition of Persona 5 including female main character to play as. so anyone interested, can occasionally contact Atlus and twitter with female MC requests for a new edition of Persona 5, and the more people do that, the more likely they will be convinced, it should would definitely sell more than some dancing game and fighting game.

I for one am up for a female protagonist in Persona 5, or any other future Shin Megami Tensei installment. Persona 5 in particular would have an even more interesting set up with a girl taking the helm as Joker and leading the Phantom Thieves in changing the hearts of wrongdoers and rebellion against society's effed up rules.
Persona 3 Portable was the first SMT game I played, and I went straight for the FeMC as my player character. It would be cool if P3's FeMC makes a return in some iteration of P3, given how popular she is. Like, maybe in Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night. She's been left out of the spotlight for far too long.

She's been left out of the spotlight for far too long. yea Atlus and Persona would be contradicting themselves if they leave P3P FeMC out of the new upcoming P3 related crossover game (even if it is a dancing game, it still shouldnt count out alternate reality characters), considering a certain important character in P5 in the true ending says something in regards to "realities", and since Persona is a canon spinoff series from core Shin Megami Tensei multiverse, all realities are literally canon, it's really just a matter of perspective. even SSB and Fire Emblem Warriors include both sexes of Robin from FE:A. we'll see what they have planned for next edition of P5. we know just like P3 and P4, the P5 milking has only begun. so think after the dancing game, they could announce the next rpg edition of P5, which should naturally include female main character to play as. P3 FeMC has gotten very popular, tons of fan arts, and appears in different sources as well. if Atlus begins to make FeMC standard for the series moving forward, everyone can benefit more. it still would get a significant increase in sales and fans than if it only pandered to one sex. Pokemon learned the essential values of allowing players to choose MC's sex generations ago, and they even took some steps further with some extra appearance customizations. though at the bare minimum, next edition of P5 should be at least P3P standard of MC identity choices, on PS4, the platform that already established a new generation of Persona fans, so they can optimize peak sales, performance, visuals, and fanbase. yea I think with SMT HD possibly getting a port on PS4, they might be considering bring next edition of P5 with female main protagonist to Switch, though if it comes to that I dont mind getting a Switch, though think they should release it on PS4 as well. I did buy PSP for P3P, though it sure would save a lot of money making the female edition of P5 on PS4, where they received the most money and fame from already, it would be illogical to make the next edition exclusive to Switch when they already have an established home on PS4. plus unlike SMT HD, I don't think P5 was made with UE4? I think they use a in house custom made engine.

Heck, an animated adaption of P3P with the FeMC as its protagonist would do great wonders for the Shin Megami Tensei multiverse as we know it. I think Persona 5 should remain on the PS4, because, yeah, Altus made a lot of money, and the Persona series has been primarily on the PlayStation from start of P1. If it does end up going to the Switch, that would be mildly disconcerting, as I own no Nintendo consoles. And yeah, I think they did use a custom engine when designing the game, who that was exclusive to the PS3 & PS4. This new SMT HD project being on the PS4, and Switch, could be interesting, since I've never played any other SMT games out of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, the first Persona 4 Arena, and Persona 5.

hey found some interesting info megamitensei.wikia.com/wiki/Katsura_HashinoHashino was the planner of Shin Megami Tensei if.... , and "if" formed the basis of the Persona series inspirations. Also "if" is the first mainline SMT to feature player's free choice of choosing the main character's sex. and Tamaki in the official Persona timeline is female. Hashino is the director of P3, and it was said that P3 was originally planned to include female main character to play as. he was also the producer of Persona 3 Portable, which is the first Persona game (that isn't a sequel nor a character that appeared in a previous game/edition) to feature female main character to choose from. So I would say they are totally open to female main character option being added to Persona 5 as DLC or new edition of the rpg on PS4. Though it's up to the Atlus/Persona fanbase to really let them know there is a more significant demand, so they would place it among their priorities. we sure wouldn't want to wait after a "Golden" or "FES" before they finally add female main protagonist to Persona 5. the 2nd edition of Persona 5 should include the feature and option.
