its very cool seeing people learn different language and communicating with foreigners despite the language barrier, not everyone has the determination to learn another language, so it's really something great seeing people having the ethusiasm to improve their knowledge in other language though its not shameful to skip learning other languages, its very hard and requires lots of dedication and depending on things, there is little use in knowing other languages if people dont have enough incentives to use extra languages, plus learning languages is easier at a younger age, and most are satisfied knowing one or two languages, usually their countries native language, and their family language if their family happens to have a different language background. every language has its advantages.

I've been workin' on learning Japanese for about a year and a half now I think? It's been a real uphill struggle since it's being done on my own time. I don't go to any school so it's mostly being self taught via a number of online resources. It's quite an interesting language to learn, being a language which such different grammar structure and then there is the way Kanji works which is both great and a nightmare to learn about. I certainly don't have the time I used to put into it but I still try and pop onto a few of those sites daily and do 2-3 lessons per day to make sure I don't slip. I'll also occasionally type something in Japanese on Discord to make sure I remember how things are written (though it mostly leads to friends poking fun and calling me a weeb).

oh yea I heard Japanese is easier to learn than languages like russian or chinese, or perhaps even thai www.effectivelanguagelearning.com/language-guide/language-difficultyack, wow so some places consider japanese somewhat more challenging than chinese/mandarin/cantonese. well it could vary, seen some english speakers talk fluent japanese and they don't know any european language that isn't english. well people that grow up in the language of course naturally learn it faster and stuff, which makes primary languages so natural and faster to learn. so it's a matter of learning it, lol.
