So, Sony revealed PS4 just recently, how do the games look to you guys? And about the features, do you think there's something they still could have done with the system or are they just fine? One major curiosity I had was the graphical power. I know this is still too early, I saw and was expecting a Xbox/GC to PS2 difference myself. What did you guys see? I know we won't truly know unless someone does a side-by-side comparison video along the line with both systems. And the 8 gigs of ram seems like some of it could be dedicated to most of the OS features they talked about. As far as games go, It isn't much of a factor unless you want faster load times. And that's about it. Discus any other thoughts down below.

I like the tablet interaction, I could use that for the PS store, Drive Club and the tech demo SE made, but the rest was meh. I need at least 2 games to convince me to spend the $429 or $529 for the PS4, Drive Club is one of these, now I need a Japan centric game to get me convinced that I want next gen.

The PS4 reveal only reaffirmed my feelings and outlook on the current state of video game consoles, namely disappointment and boredom.
I saw a lot of big talk, self patting on the back, new 'features' that are strange at best, and uninspired tech demos/CG filled previews that did nothing more than show off 'dem grafix'.
I mean seriously, what I saw of Watch Dogs for the first time only made me question if this was really the game that everyone was going nuts over. A guy in a trench coat walking around and then going to an ATM......I mean....really? This is what console gaming has come to? This is what's supposed to be awe inspiring?
The only thing I've seen that's come from developers getting 'more power' and larger budgets is mediocrity. I hear all about them being freed up from limitations to go further and give them 'creative freedom'. So where is all of this creativity I keep hearing about because I'm not seeing it. All I'm seeing is more Hollywood wanna be interactive movies.
If what was shown tonight is what I can expect from the next gen consoles then I see me saving hundreds of dollars in the upcoming years.

I think they are holding off on a lot of important details until E3, which I think is a bad call, the consumer needs to know of the details now.

Yeah, but there's still some curiosities I have about system, the system not having backwards compatibility and the cloud gaming solution, Sony doesn't seem like the type of company that'll let re-download every game you ever bought for free of charge. And they don't seem like won't charge for full price either, developers did have a say so in the console's production. Also, the watch dogs trailer shown was the PC version.
Another thing about the cloud gaming, it entirely internet based and unlike Japan, several companies control the internet in North America, and some gamers still use dial up. Not me though. And playing the games while they're still downloading, that a bit shady to me. If PCs are still supposed to be indefinitely better overall, I've never even heard of being able to do that. You can't play a game without all the data that makes up the file, it seems foreign to me.

That share feature is going to be crazy for competitive gaming if they can push it right.
But at the end of the day is seems like lower level Sony learned there leasons but I doubt Higher up Sony cares so prices will still be crazy across the board hurting most of the good points of the system.

And the dualshock 4 is priced at $100. That gives me a hint to the price of the system.

I think a lot of us know the drill now. All the big talk about possibilities, but really the games are what matter. I did not see one game last night that got me excited about the industry, and that is a concern. Most of the social features are meaningless to me and looking at the specs I have no idea how they will price this under $499 at this point. I know me, I'll eventually buy a PS4, likely in 2014/2015 when games really start coming out. Last night was for the mainstream press and I guess fans of shooters and car racers (woo...).

But they were not concerned about games the message they was trying to get out is that they are building a better system with eveyone in mind now and if we left you or an idea out it can be added later. Games are no problem since they will have 3rd party support The problem is the people that price this stuff will mess everything up I just know it.

The one part that really annoyed me was the pretentious developer who acts like games are supposed to do everything to emulate film. I really grow tired of this inferiority complex that exists in parts of the industry.

I really grow tired of this inferiority complex that exists in parts of the industry. I say just stick to handhelds for now, they seem to be getting the kind of line ups consoles USED to get. Part of me really sees the gaming scene ready to split in to two, or possibly three, distinct divides. I see consoles becoming pretty much only good for 'hollywood' games, IE western games in general and handhelds for more Japanese style games, then finally the phone market for cheap time killers.

I'm actually surprised by most of the reactions on here.
Most of the people I've seen excited for the PS4 end up coming back to reality when they start adding all of the "new" features together. I've seen some say it'll be another $599 USD console. While others are saying it'll be over that price.
Most of the new features didn't really impress me either. I don't use Ustream, Youtube or other services to upload videos, so I don't really care to stream to my friends list on any console.
I honestly don't like the idea of someone watching me play a game and having the ability to take over to "assist" in certain parts of a game. That's a human version of Nintendo's super guide and I'm not okay with Nintendo's version either.
I found no backward compatibility over no used games to be the oddest decision ever made for the system. Why buy a PS4 for a game like Watch_Dogs when it's on the Xbox 360, PC, Wii U and PS3? That's the most confusing part about the system in my opinion.
I didn't really care for any of the games at this point. I would rather wait for Retro Studio's project and engine before throwing out any comparisons with PS4 and NextBox. Especially since Sony didn't reveal "hard" specs.

I see Nintendo trying to get JP support and indie support geared towards both their consoles now that Sony pretty much won over the "hardcore" western publishers during the reveal. I swear the only thing these guys dream about is making their games look better as opposed to making a different gameplay experience, Capcom was right!

When it comes to new consoles, all I care about are the games, and the only one I found impressive was Capcom's "deep down"; everything else bored the hell outta me.
