Switch and PC users could probably use this method too.
1. so first, have a gmail account (well maybe other emails work too, but have that window open besides the SE account registration)
2. have a Japanese PSN account (there are guides for that, some of us have one since PS3.)
3. download Dragon Quest X (easy to find on PSN Store, maybe searching with just X could bring it up too)
4. on ps4 browser, have gmail account window open, and another window for creating a Japanese SE account
red button: register new account www.square-enix.com/na/account/
another source, basically choose the below option to start the steps secure.square-enix.com/

basically make sure the region is set to Japan. the lower lines will have Japan/Japanese confirmations below it.
enter SE ID you want
enter password you want (write them down)
email address
birthday (make sure its adult age so no complications)
after doing the steps, you will get a verification code sent to input in the rectangle. so check email, it arrived fast in my inbox.
so input that exact code, then confirm. its really straightforward, maybe so no letters are missing cause I messed up on that a few times till I reread the code.
5. SE registration complete? make sure you are on PSN Japan account and launch Dragon Quest X there
proceed and when you have options where a button says 3DS, choose the top option instead. sign in using your Square Enix ID and password.
the rest of the steps are self explanatory, the charts highlight linking your PSN ID with your SE account. just confirm everything.
if you have trouble selecting the bar to fill in user ID/password, use the O/circle button and after typing, confirm pressing R2 twice. O is generally confirm in that game even when filling out log in text.
after its all done you may have to log in SE ID and password again, but thats easy. the rest is straightforward, when you see lines of text on the top left, choose the top option to select a save slot and begin creating character. now Im not sure how long the trial can be played, I think its 3 days, or maybe its the online that can be played if you complete the trial and begin the online part, but anyways, just play as much as you can. I got kicked late a night, so I think there is a cap on how much hours you can play per day. so overall, it is an outstanding hands on experience to have that anyone that wants to experience all the greatest gaming experiences, shouldnt miss out on, especially now that DQX isnt blocking overseas IPs.
screens and videos really dont do it justice. its a very fun game and I beat the trial, played some of the online portion the same day I started and leveling to 10 didnt feel like a grind at all.
here is a guide

I didnt really use it, the navigation, symbols and descriptions are universal enough for me to know how to equip, shop, fight, jump, heal HP/MP, and progress in the story quests!
I give Dragon Quest X a 100 out of 10 score! ^.^
