Though I am writing this up but please give your thanks to sagitari rather than me because if it is not because of sagitari I would still be playing on the non-JP-unfriendly GREE.
Firstly, you need an iOS or Android to play. Otherwise, if you want to play on your computer you will need add-on "User Agent Switcher" to make your computer into a mobile device.
Secondly, sagitari mentioned that "you don't need to have a Japanese e-mail address but as long as you have a Gmail account, you are good to go!" I hadn't confirmed whether this is true or not as I too used Gmail to register. So, have yourself a Gmail account which works for both sagitari and I.
Steps to create a mobage DeNA account (This does NOT cover how to login mobage DeNA with Facebook)
1. sp.mbga.jp/
2. Click on register. (image a1, picture 1)
3. Enter your email address and register with your email. (image a1, picture 2)
4. Confirm your email and click send. (image a1, picture 3)
5. Go to your email and check for the mail from mobage DeNA. (image a2, picture 1)
6. Click on the link in the mail to register.
7. Refers to (image a2, picture 2) to register.
8. DONE!
Finding Senran Kagura New Wave game
1. Your home page from mobage DeNA should look something like this (image a2, picture 3).
2. Keep scrolling down until you see list of games. (image a3, picture 1)
3. In the search bar, type "NewWave" (no space)
4. Result should come up with Senran Kagura New Wave game. (image a3, picture 2)
5. Click on it to go to Senran Kagura New Wave game.
6. ENJOY! (image a3, picture 3)
