Ah okay so we are talking competitive play stuff In that, it is game changing for certain, as a new game should be, but not game breaking. By limiting the amount to 1 per battle I think it adds a fun new tactical element to it. Which one will you use, when will you use it and for what purpose? That you're forced to use one to play competitively only makes sense: these collection games (think also tcg's) always have these things. Deviation then is possible but generally requires a really thorough tactic (one that, in my years of Cardfight Vanguard and Yugi Oh I've been known to lack) of course I don't know, but since x and y I've been enjoying Pokemon like the first summer me and my brothers got a gbasp with Pokemon Gold again! I assume he's referring to story mode with megas. But if not, honestly only some megas are game breaking in competitive Half of them are kinda worthless, like Mega Heracross or Ampharos. Mega Heracross' main problem is that it struggles in OU due to Talonflame being around and It's too strong for UU, Ampharos is just slow and doesn't offer really much, especially if you consider better megas (Manectric), but slow momentum is still nice in some occasions. About the broken megas, you hardly have troubles against them in VGC'16, not even Mega Rayquaza is that threatening, but in singles the most broken ones are Kangaskhan, Gengar, Salamence and, obviously, Rayquaza.

Pretty much. I've so desperately wanted to be able to run Mega Garchomp but the only really viable plans are either tailwind or Brave Megachomp with 0 Speed IVs / EVs, and just run a trick room team. The problem is if my trick room team gets countered, its usually gonna be a rough time.

Trick Room is really hard to pull out in both metas (single and doubles), you might wait to see next years' metagame to see how viable the move is. Mega Garchomp resides in the limbo where It's slow but too fast to take advantage of Trick Room, sadly

UNtil then, Sandstorm + Sand Veil + Bright Powder + Double Team Garchomp.

Unless I missed something, somewhere, nothing about that confirms them.

Ah, that. I'd remain skeptical. Confirmed is a strong word. They could very well even end up being supports to go along with the Darkrai release.

I am really quite excited about having DLC Pokémon, so I just hope it's going to come.
How are you guys doing with the Sun and Moon hype though? I've deliberately gone blind to all the new stuff coming out, which is killing my wife who wants to talk to me about everything coming out. Supposedly coming week the demo is coming out as well and I can hardly wait!

Hell, I love Garbodor and Muk. Some people that have complained are saying it'll be too easy, but frankly every Pokemon game is anyway unless you throw in a really obnoxious level gap. But then its not hard, just time consuming. Overall this game really seems like a refreshing change of pace, and theres already some confirmed changes to improve the meta game as well. Alsooo the demo is on the 18th.

Alsooo the demo is on the 18th. Grimer and Muk are actually some of my favourites, despite it just being a lump of sludge... Pokémon Gold was the first game I played though, and after Emerald I picked it up again with Y, and Omega Ruby. I absolutely LOVE the 6th generation and Klefki is probably the closest thing to a bad design, and even that one's questionable (because really, who hasn't considered the possibility of something like Klefki existing that always steals your keys when you're not watching?). I completely agree with the change of pace thing and I'm hoping that the improved visuals outside of battles will also help the 'I'm part of the Pokémon universe' feeling I had way back when. And yes, I'm so looking forward to the demo! Also, I accidentally came across the fact that there's a Dark/Poison Grimer version in the game that I just CAN'T WAIT TO SEE, but try not to look up because well... I want stuff to feel like a surprise...

Whats bad about Klefki though? Everyone says that, and they say its just based on a keyring. Why is that bad? Voltorb is just a Pokeball with angry eyes. Then for its evolution, they flipped it upside down and gave it a mouth.
