Sweet, the XR's are actually really powerful now! (Although now the Yumi XR is more powerful than my Leo XR, I liked Leo being my strongest *cries*)

And now that Hanzo is part of the Challenge mode, I'll be able to have a stronger team. Maybe I'll actually take on the advanced difficulty, since there's more likely to be scrolls.

i could've gotten my Rin to UR but there was some kind of mistake with my game taking 100 of my crystals and giving me "0" R Orbs so my Rin is stuck at SR until i painstakingly farm a boss i don't have the cards for

also, some tidbits about XRs.

they've almost always been tied to being the first LR a character has gotten. sort of.

It's really weird how they're handling this. according to my research, Yumi got the first LR. but it was a commemorative card released during a thanksgiving event in December of 2014. a bit after that (at least 2 months or so after, because apparently the second LR released was an Ikaruga? i forget already and will have to double check) a Leo LR was released, alongside a Yuyaki LR that was similar to Leo's. i mention these two specifically because apparently they were also commemorative cards apparently.

everyone else's XR has been hyperbursted from their own first LRs. that is, until now.

Rin's you get from the shop like the news post said. and Ryoubi's you get from a more "recent" event. (it's not really that recent) despite the fact that both of their first LRs are (well, in the case of Ryoubi, was) available in the Ninja Manual gacha. and instead, they went with other ways for these two.

Rin is easier to explain. they probably wanted to give people something that's more "easily" attainable that's always there. essentially, an option for everyone, regardless of player status.

Ryoubi's though, instead of giving it to her first LR, they gave it to her second, which was released in the first event where the girls are turned into children. It's a bid of an odd choice to me, just because they went and created new LRs for the other 2 girls who's first LRs weren't available anymore, and instead of giving Ryoubi the same deal, or even letting people have a chance at her first LR, they opted to just...give it to a completely different card.

strange! but it does give a better clue as to who/what cards you'll need in case you have certain LRs. the criteria seems to be

1. as long as it was one of the LRs for that character
2. and as long as it's still available

it'll turn into an XR. hard to say for sure though. because they keep messing with the way they handle them. im sure the next one will blow my current statements out of the water and do something unexpected.

Alright I gave in and did the 5 Step thing for the LR rebirth book. All those LRs were enticing, even though I figured I wouldn't get them.
And on three out of the 5 steps, Yumi's bra was gold, which got me very excited...only for it to be the B reward Fuga slayer.

I also did the 3000 pull to try for the Souji kiss card. I got...several more Fugas, but I also got the Ikaruga, which is great.

I feel like with what I spent, I should actually try hard for this event, but I don't have a whole lot of ice cream, and I don't really care much for that Miyabi reward, so I'm not sure how far I'm actually going to go.

I don't know if it's the same "waifu" deck but I have the Golden Week Yumi from last year (weird they didn't do that this year) that has Yumi, Ikaruga, Bashou, Fuga, and Chihaya x14, so that works really well with the slayers I got. Luckily I'm the kind of crazy person who makes a list of every deck skill among cards that I end up keeping, in case I ever need to rotate in certain decks for slayers.
