If you're going to lock a thread, post saying that you are instead of just locking it without saying anything. That will cause frustration for others.

The PS4 version didn't rank this week and the Vita version had a massive drop, still, there's no that much difference between it and SK2 numbers.

well both versions have the help of digital which is weak on 3ds. so unless taka starts dancing in the streets not really a win if they had to show boobs for less than sv numbers.

Doesn't matter as long as Takaki and the rest of Marvelous are satisfied with the sales in the end.

I'm not that pessimistic as you, Dai. They most likely sold 100,000 copies of the game already. It probably didnt cost as much to make as SK2 too since they reused a good amount of SV assets. THis was in a week(s) of heavy competition.

It's already destroyed SK2's numbers even without digital. You can't separate the two versions like some of you guys seem to be. You have to combine them.

Even combining the data there's a marked decline on sales. It took two versions to sell as much as Burst did, the game didnt came close as Versus numbers and giving the steep drop this week, doesnt seem to have a lot of shelf life either.

I think it's more of a matter of there being a cross of PS4 and Vita owners as more likely. You cant say the vita version would've just sold 44k if the PS4 version was not there. People are talking about just getting the PS4 version just to cross play on vita. Combining the media create sales along with the 10k digital number takaki gave, then it's sold 93k in two weeks. That also doesnt include the second week PS4 numbers. We dont know what those are but I imagine that and the digital sales after the 10k tweet have put it over 100k. Keep in perspective SV had an anime and no competition when it came out. And also this was posted in the SV threads by Augen but this does point to there being a good number of SV buyers outside Japan. 300,000 has to mean at least 100000 sold in NA and Europe. They can probably recoop some losses from SK2.

It took two versions to sell as much as Burst did, the game didnt came close as Versus numbers and giving the steep drop this week, doesnt seem to have a lot of shelf life either. You're not understanding. It's not "it took two versions," it's "the total was split between two versions." Thinking of them like two separate things is incorrect to begin with - it broke SV's numbers and didn't have nearly as much going for it (anime promoting it, recent Vita price drop). It broke 100K in one week if you include digital, apparently/roughly 90K without (and this last week brings it back up just about anyway) - that basically means in less than a month, save for SV's lifetime sales, it's beaten everything on the first post, and it's got plenty of time to catch up. It's very possible the split has a lot of people that would have bought on Vita but don't have PS4s yet waiting, for example. Also, judging by the numbers in the first post, they all had steep drops compared to how they were selling in their first week - most games don't sell long in Japan after their first week unless they're huge, not niche things like this.

First, the game didn't break the 100k mark in a week.
Three different trackers put the game at the 80k mark after two weeks and digital sales weren't that big either. Estival was surpased by Disgaea 5 on digital sales and that game bombed.
New games keep coming out so is extremely unlikely that it will see an increase on units sold in this coming week (rather they will keep decreasing) so Estival doesn't have legs to speak of (comtrast with Cyber Sleuth that is still on the top 20 after a month of being released)
Now, counting the sales of both versions it barely break Burst's numbers so isn't a massive success as everyone is implying. If anything the numbers only say that SK has hit a"stable area" of around 45-50k guaranteed sales. Good numbers but far from being ground breaking.
An educated guess is tha the series future lies on multiplataform games and an incursion on PC is probable since at this point is the platform with bigger reach and sales.

You forgot the "if you include digital" part of my statement. It's already been said digital sales were 10K across both, so even if all 10K went to Estival PS4, which is extremely unlikely, that still gives plenty of room for Disgaea 5 to beat it. What's more, Disgaea 5 was only on one console and Japan just isn't big on digital like the West is - it really doesn't say much of anything that it was surpassed by Disgaea. The fact that the PS4 version was still up there is still a pretty decent sign.
Counting sales of both, if we include past the first week of sales, then it's already nearly broken Burst's known lifetime sales (less than 100K) in less than a month since the Vita version still charted this past week with a few thousand. Really, how is it not a success? It doubled SK2's first week and SK2 is on a much better and more popular and accessible system all around. I'm also not really seeing how you get 45-50K when even you admit it got at least 80K in the first week. That's a success. This was most definitely a success.
If it goes PC it does, but I don't see anything pointing to it just yet for sure.

It most likely did hit 100000 in two weeks. Add the numbers. That plus the PS4 sales from week 2 we haven't seen yet. It's behind disgaea in the PS4 store, not the vita one. The vita one was number two. Currently they are 4 and 5 in both stores, disagea falling completely digitally. I'd guess they sold 100k. Takaki seems fine enough.
