Are they still sure they couldn't do this on the 3DS, an optimized port nonetheless, all they would have had to do was swap the screens during certain segments of gameplay. It's not like the 3DS wasn't a capable system in the first place with two Dynasty Warriors styled games already. The more we tend to think about this, the less sense it seems to make.
Where will they go beyond this game if the main series will continue on the 3DS? A spinoff shouldn't necessarily add plot and character development, that would result in a huge gap in the main series, commonly why the Mario Kart series is non-canon.
Will they decided to build upon this new formula when the next game is on the horizon? If so then I'll await what new innovations they'll plan to work with when the time comes.
Maybe a port will be in the works if it happens not to sell well, but it's not a given for any new game releasing for the vita.

There's speculation on what that is. Most people are saying a black wing which I can agree with. You can scale up accessories 300% so I wouldn't be surprised to see something that large. New pictures. You have 3 special moves. When you have all 3 scrolls in the bottom bar you can use your super special move. In Asuka's case a toad comes out to help. Looks like there'll be mid-air battles. A new system implemented is (I guess) button mashing as in the middle of the screen it says "barrage".

There's **** load of new contents implement in this.

That toad you mention is most likely Jiraiya.
Minori footage, I'm so going to love playing as her, those moves are silly and cute and she has her bucket out, I seen the frying pan in the 2nd PV.

There's no way they would have known in 2011 that the franchise would take off this much to the point of having an anime and another two games. They had time constraints so that's why they released Burst which was essentially an update. I don't think you could call Burst a 'new' game like Shinovi Versus is, Burst is essentially ver1.5 which wouldn't have taken any time to work on. They had a year to implement added functionality like the 3D view in the changing room... SV is on an entirely new system that is much more powerful and radically different compared to the 3DS (as are all the different consoles, that's why some ports suck balls like Bayonetta). It'll have been a year and half since the first game came out, I'm certain they would have been working on this since then. There's no way they made SV in the 6 months since Burst came out. tl;dr it's just a natural progression due to success which has been perceived wrongly because of the quick release of each new game. On another note, rather than button mashing the mid-air battle thing my just be a QTE. We'll have to wait until famitsu makes an article on their website before anything can be confirmed.

I don't know which I would prefer, button-mashing or QTE for air clashes. I guess either as long as the sequences are quick. But quick question (might be considered slightly off topic on present board): Is there already a board where we can speculate on Senran Kagura 2/ the next 3DS game?

@ UltWing - You can make one if you like for disscusions in the SKB games section.
Is it really not is the thing. It was the Beta for the brand and now that is is a brand they can take it any where. Doubt they go back to the 3DS now though. makes no since to take steps back and remove content for nothing.

We can continue the main line beat em up on 3DS.

I think after 2 another beat em up will not work after this monster game. Gonna need alot of features and better 3D. Will they break bank for 3DS or just make Wii U/PS4 game instead. More wow factor there.

More wow factor there. Just like I was saying, where do they plan to go next? If it was really about power, then they just shot themselves in the foot. They can't just take a step back with new innovations and ideas. They said the series will continue on the 3DS because that's where the main series is. Hinata: What does a change in gameplay have to do with the models? The 3DS is fine with models. They could have just used the same models from burst. I think you mean the frame rate.

And you believed they / him after all those lies on what contents are going to be in Burst? Burst is also lagging like crap by just being a line beat em' up. Imagine using PS VITA quality models and the 3D environment for it. I tried the Samurai Musou 2 for the 3DS, the character creation have awesome high quality models, but when it comes to the gameplay part, the model quality got toned down into something like a PS1/2 models.

I gotta agree. After Shinovi Versus and all the content and improvements it brings to the table, it's hard to imagine the series continuing on the 3DS. But, hey, maybe they have some tricks up their sleeve.

Given Japan's line up of 3DS in 2013 (Dragon Quest VII remake, Monster Hunter 4 and gen 6 Pokemon) I am beginning to seriously wonder how much of a market will be there for Vita. Power is nice, but this is ultimately a business.
Personally, may be Shinovi Versus could see PSN release for PS3 down the road. Make it easier to go world wide (no voice dubbing required that way either).
We shall see, 2013 will determine a great deal in the hand held market.
