Next time as in Estival? It was probably a big mistake for them to announce Estival at the same time as SK2. I already said that but people in the west seem to think not even though it wad said by Japanese fans. alot felt a burt version may come so they will wait. It's a solid point. Shinovi was the best selling game in the series. It came with a lot of new characters which were popular and the Vita/Sony fanbase is more prone to buying the kind of niche games like Senran Kagura. Why buy a game with less characters and supposedly less flare then something that will come out after it on a better system? It's amazing how much more polarizing console wars are in Japan compared to US. SV came out during a price drop but it still sold nearly twice that of burst when it came out with a 3DS price drop. SK2 looks great but it seems like the story is just so mashed up and there are some problems with bugs and such.

SV is a happy medium between the two styles plus new characters

Just hope estival does better in sales. They might not put a lot of bonuses in it just to be safe(Nendos and such like in SK2). I would've bought SK2 if I could but didn't want to pay for a Japanese 3DS. I'll buy estival if it's on the vita. Takaki tweeted that he is announcing something this weekend so let's see.

To be fair, the Japanese game market is really, really weird. Here in the west the price drops come after months not after mere weeks (I've seen some games never get cuts despite being on the shelves for months)

SK2's story does seem a bit incoherent with clashing themes. Or at least what I read.

Or at least what I read. he only did the first two games. he only was going to do one but the game was a hit and they needed him to write the rest of the characters backstories since he developed the characters. he did this over a bunch of short stories and the in game story. that is why the original characters feel so different from others add. those were done by different writers and not much tine and care went into making then. the main sites use to have short stories made by the writwr bur now they don't. maybe SK2 was the case of we think we know the formula we ddon't need you VA or writers to co sign anymore. these people also have fans.

It's sad when the new writer(s) doesn't respect the lore and characters, created by the first writer(s).

It's sad when the new writer(s) doesn't respect the lore and characters, created by the first writer(s). I don't know about that, I've read transcriptions of some pairing scenes and they capture and improve the girls personalities (Yagyuu has mellowed out and bonds with Mirai, Homura's acting like a girl of her age, Kat and Hikage really become besties just to say some examples). Now clashing themes, that's kind of a trend with the series. Or was anyone really expecting something as grim like Hebijo's backstories at first?

So the game is out of the top 20 in 2 weeks. bullet girls had a better second week then SK2.

I have to ask if I'm reading this numbers are right (and if are accurate)
01. [PS3] Persona 4: Arena Ultimax (Atlus) {2014.08.28} - 89.468 / NEW 02. [PSV] Toukiden: The Age of Demons Extreme (Koei Tecmo) {2014.08.28} - 79.384 / NEW 03. [3DS] Yo-kai Watch 2: Ganso / Honke (Level 5) {2014.07.10} - 68.762 / 2.358.745 (-11%) 04. [PSV] Love Live! School Idol Paradise (Kadokawa Games) {2014.08.28} - 59.710 / NEW 05. [PSV] Hyperdimension Action Neptunia U (Compile Heart) {2014.08.28} - 34.980 / NEW 06. [3DS] Medarot 8: Kabuto Ver. / Kuwagata Ver. (Rocket Company) {2014.08.28} - 33.326 / NEW 07. [PS3] Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Masou Kishin F (Bamco) {2014.08.28} - 28.807 / NEW 08. [WIU] Mario Kart 8 (Nintendo) {2014.05.29} - 11.148 / 650.858 (-8%) 09. [PSP] Toukiden: The Age of Demons Extreme (Koei Tecmo) {2014.08.28} - 11.026 / NEW 10. [PSV] Bullet Girls (D3 Publisher) {2014.08.21} - 10.030 / 39.720 (-66%) 11. [3DS] Yoshi's New Island (Nintendo) {2014.07.24} - 9.968 / 167.061 (-23%) 12. [PS4] The Last of Us Remastered (Sony) {2014.08.21} - 8.782 / 39.368 (-71%) 13. [3DS] Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission 2 (Bamco) {2014.08.07} - 8.361 / 128.050 (-23%) 14. [WIU] Hyrule Warriors (Koei Tecmo) {2014.08.14} - 7.648 / 91.880 (-49%) 15. [3DS] Yo-kai Watch (Level 5) {2013.07.11} - 6.912 / 1.259.144 (-4%) 16. [3DS] Taiko no Tatsujin: Jikuu Daibouken (Bamco) {2014.06.26} - 6.653 / 152.620 (-8%)
If Bullet Girls only sold 39k copies on two weeks, I don't think it can objectively say that it sold better than SK2

The only thing I hope to come out of this is they at least try one more traditional sidescroller before deciding to keep this the new type of gameplay for the main series.
Hopefully the "Versus" series will keep what SV has and fine tune it rather than randomly ditch it like what 2 did. I imagine that might have hurt them some as well, though I'm not liking that they changed out writers.

Is this a deja-bu. This looks exactly like the conversation of the first page. lol
BTW, not all the games of one franchise needs to be a HUGE box office success, to be good. Super Mario 3D World was a great game and it didn't oversell Galaxy.

SK2 was projected to do at least 60k with such high budget game. but I thinl I see the problem they miss judged the 3ds player base in terms of LE. no one is paying that price on 3ds thry are not used to it. they assume. they would that's why the LE price is now slashed. maybe that is a fine price on a Sony system but not on a Nintendo system.
