I never said that though? My arguments on the EV thread are: a) Clarifying the sales numbers with actual data from three differen trackers b) Criticizing EV's legs I simply doubt we'll have the same character set SK2 and burst had, why rehash it again if SK2 seemingly ended it well being self contained and all.The same can be said about EV And rehash? Neither EV nor SK2 told the same plot or hit the same plot beats that their predecessors, why should change now?

k
I thought you wanted more "serious" stories for the other characters. I feel there just is no benefit in going over for a third time the same thing with the same group of people while keeping out the other characters.

I'm not following your logic, if a story is more serious it stands to reason that it will be different from past stories that were lighter in tone. How exactly is that going over the same thing for a third time? Also, aren't you the one claiming for Hanzo and Crimson to be dropped on future installments of the game? How is that different from my wish of keeping Gessen and Hebijo on the Versus series?

I didnt say anything about dropping Hanzo or Crimson, just not keeping the same format where they are the characters are forced to interact with each other via the rival groupings which was what was great about EV. Takaki said they wouldnt be the main characters forever. I'd rather the next game not be another versus, I'd rather something as a mix with the different characters or maybe the three sisters or something. I just doubt we'll get another retelling of Hanzo/Hebijo and the whole Asuka vs Homura duality thing because SK2 kind of climaxed that.

I don't know why you have the idea the only story they can tell with the Hanzo and Crimson is one of rivalry.
Versus' was all about Crimson bailing Hanzo due the power of Friendship and essentially being their mentors to become better and being able to defeat Gessen. SK2 is all about exploring their ideas and learning to work together as equals to face bigger threats. Both of those stories are way, WAY different from Burst's plot.

We need Senran Kagura Hanafuda style cards.
Or a Senran Kagura Hanafuda style cards theme for 3DS.

Alright, whatever you want to call what it is, I just dont think they'll bring the same characters since SK2 does seem to close the storyline with them going back to Hebijo like you said whereas more can probably happen at the end of EV where they can grow other characters. I just see it as highly unlikely as the same thing next game. I'd be surprised, especially how SK2 did compared to EV.

Versus closed the storyline of many characters: -the twins giving up on their wish for vengeance -Miyabi commiting herself to honer her mother's memory instead of Hebijo's honor -Yumi coming to terms with her worldview -Crimson choosing to become Kagura to redeem themselves And yet Estival opened new plots for all of them. If anything, is easier to develop Hanzo and Crimson after the events on SK2 than it was for Gessen and Hebijo at the end of Versus. Another thing {Spoiler} People is extremely hung up on the idea of Homura's group returning to Hebijo when:
a) Isn't actually confirmed
b) They haven't done anything of note with their status as renegades beyond being comic relief.

I just doubt we'll have another Hanzo/Crimson game, it'll be about someone else or it will mix them up. Maybe it'll be about just Crimson. You asked why not, and I think that way based on how SK2 supposedly ends and how it did compared to EV.

What is it about the 3DS that matters though? They probably wont spend the budget on another game like SK2 again and it'd be hard pressed to look better than what Estival Versus does. Not to mention they cant do full strips on it and everything. I simply doubt we'll have the same character set SK2 and burst had, why rehash it again if SK2 seemingly ended it well being self contained and all. Really? SK2 doesn't seem anymore or less "self-contained" then any other of the games. Each game ,excluding SV, had a definitive element that perturbs the cast. Burst, The SuperSecretNinjaArtScrolls EV, the spirits festival SK2, Dougen spawning youma (or whatever the story is) BA, Hanzo's contest At the end, in each game, the problem is resolved, this applies to SV as well. Theoretically speaking, They could have ended the series off at any of the games. The only one that would have been weird with this is Burst because it's ending was so sequel bait-y. There is no reasonable evidence to say that Sk2 not having the full strip had anything to do with it being on the 3DS. that is purely assumptive. (Admittedly, I never cared for it. I prefer them in their underwear compared to censored naked, heck I prefer them in there underwear period.) Ultimately, I think it is just poor business sense to close off a part of your market like that, especially with an install base like the 3DS'. The games aren't doing bad on it, the VITA(PS4) games just sell better. Also, I don't get the use of the word, rehash here. What did you mean exactly? Lasty and personally, I would really, really, really miss the 3D too much. I kinda see what he meant though, if you go anywhere where the series is talked about, you will find people who almost maliciously hope the games stop appearing on the 3DS for some reason, which I (pardon my French) find really retarded silly. If the series ever did stop appearing on it, I wouldn't abandon the series or anything, but I do feel it would be a huge shame.. I find console loyalty as a whole really retarded silly,(which I imagine has plenty to do with it) so that has much to do with my sympathy to his position. In the end, it really is just which sticker is on the piece of plastic you put the game in (I only believe in developer loyalty), but in the 3DS' case, it has unique features and applications that not only spawned the series, but can be used to great advantages to making a unique experience. TL;DR, it has it's niche. *Warps out Megaman style*

After thinking about it, I think we need some kind of story focusing on the Gessen team. They are, for lack of a better term, the weakest team of the 4 and I think this is because the games, so far, have done a poor job of showing the group as a unit or how they relate to the others. The Crimson Squad, in Burst, got a few chapter's dedicated to showing how the team got together and how the members feel about eachother initially. The NewHebijo team, in SV, got a similar treatment, not to mention it has 2 sets of sisters and the fifth member is one of the characters childhood best friend. Hanzo, while they didn't get a similar thing did get entire episodes dedicated to showing how the group came together in the Anime as well as episodes dedicated to showing the relationship between Ikaruga and katsuragi specifically. they even got there own manga for it. {Spoiler}Add in the fact that we have Daidoji, who was fierce rivals with Rin, one of Kiriya's favourite students who's presents influenced how he relates to the Hanzo girls, who defected from Hanzo to join Hebijo as a teacher as well as being the teacher of both the CrimsonSquad and NewHebi, as well Miyabi's father being the principal of the school and I think you catch my drift. Basically, outside of Hanzo being friends with Kurokage, Gessen really feels like an outlier out of all the groups. I still find it weird that they don't even have NWs. They could really use something to maybe give them more development or show them working and interacting as a group, preferably something putting the spotlight on how they got together in the first place like the other teams. It would be fun seeing Yumi slowly realizing she is getting adopted sisters and how she copes with it. If they do end up doing that, maybe they could also expand on what Gessen's relations with the twins were like before the latter defected from Gessen Academy to Hebijo while they're at it. Given how Yozakura even knew about their late older sister, and how Ryouna herself expressed grief about leaving them back in the Hebijo story of SV, it could be possible that the Gessen elite had some sort of close relations with the twins, as opposed to knowing them merely as just another couple of students that also attended their school. Very good point, I mentioned the same thing on other sites actually. That was a huge missed opportunity, but I don't think it's too late. Also, the HeartMissions would really benefit from being adapted into Anime Specials. :like:

Rehash as in redigging up the rival pairing stuff. It kind of limits the characters. Homura and Asuka are really the ones that it works best with because thats what I imagined they had in mind with making them, whereas interactions are usually just meh to cringe with Yomi/Ikaruga, Yagyuu/Mirai, and Haruka/Hibari. Haruka and Hibari less so I think because it's sort of cute how Haruka is basically her mom. Yomi/Ikaruga are just way too similar and SK2 is about learning how to not hate rich people and calling Ikaruga by her name. Ikaruga doesn't really benefit from the relationship at all and it's mostly a housewifetype character grouping for fanservice as you can see where they had the most promotional material for SK2. Yagyuu/Mirai is just a pair the spare that didn't have any thought whatsoever.
The Hanzo characters certainly dont benefit from the pairing system whatsoever and they seem like they're probably the least developed group in the entire series outside of Asuka which is mostly done in Burst. All the development is kind of lopsided for the Crimson Squad more so in SK2. I think the reason they're the least popular group is because their characterization together is worse than Gessen's and Hebijo. I'd argue Ikaruga too because of the whole Murasame thing being better for her character in SK2. Hibari tells Yagyuu to go away in both SK2 and EV because she's sick of her which I guess is development. I simply don't seem them using that same system again, especially how really popular Yumi and the twins are, they may want to make a story with them in it and use a different format with the others that doesnt have to have 20 plus characters. Takaki said after SK2 came out or around it that the main characters and stuff can change.
The games on the 3DS probably won't go away but most likely in BA type spin-offs because SK2 has been their biggest project so far and it was the least selling in the series and people here were freaking out about the series dying.4 5k is a good sell on the first week for this type of series but not necessarily good for profit depending on how much budget it had and how they are selling LE packs for 30 bucks three weeks after the game was released (I just bought one and they still have a ton of stock). And for a fanservice series, you want the fan service to improve and look better.

Great characterization:
Hebijo: "I have to fight for my school's honor" "I'll do anything for her" "I'll do stuff for my sister so she will love me" "I'm gonna kill the bitch who killed my sister" "I'm following my sister because"
Gessen: "I'm gonna fight for my grandfather's honor" "I'm following my leader" "I'm gonna play!" "Whatever you say Yumi-chi. Say Murakumo, you really should be more confident and your mangas? great stuff" "I'm ugly but I'll fight for Kurokage. Thanks Shiki, can you help me with my mangas?"
Against
Hanzo:
"I have to carry my grandfather's legacy and I know I can do it thanks to my friends. And you know what? The hebijo girls aren't that different from us" "I might be the heir to an empire but is a meaningless title. My place and my family is here, with my friends." "I have to live in the moment and become the stronger shinobi ever, maybe then my parents can return. And hey, that green haired chick looks like she could use some excitement" "I failed to protect my dearest ones once, it won't happen again. I'll devote myself fully to protect my friend, I just don't wanna be alone ever again" "Everyone's too kind with me but I don't want special treatment. I'm as good shinobi like my friends are!"
Crimson/Hebijo "No one on the world cares about me, power and the thrill of the fight are the only thing that matters. Oh, a new junior, better see if she needs some help" "Rich people took my family away, I'll become stronger to both get revenge on them and ensure no one suffers the same as me again" "I don't understand people, I don't have emotions but I don't wanna be away from my classmates. Why's that?" "People is self serving scum that don't care for anyone else but themselves, so I'll be the same and I'll be training all my fellow classmates to be able to stand on their own no matter the means" "I need to get stronger so people doesn't bully me anymore, hey my seniors are actually pretty great. Maybe I can fit here"
Biased much?

Me biased? I like the Hanzo characters except Yagyuu cause she'll never ever get development and is a less serious character than Murasam. You're the one who doesn't like any of the versus characters. You're all fluffing out all the character traits for the Hanzo school while demeaning the other two, and you call me biased? You're just giving backstories, not development anyway.
The fact that Gessen and Hebijo have just as good development if not more than the Hanzo characters after EV show that the Hanzo characters havent benefited from the storytelling in Burst and SK2 while the Crimson girls have. Or thats how I see it.This is a reasoning that we wont see another hanzo/crimson centered game, seeing they're probably the least popular group in the series because of it.

Also, you keep talking about how popular groups are and yet the only characters you mention are Yumi and the twins. Gessen and Hebijo are more than those three, why you don't mention anything about them? I mean, if we're talking only about popular characters Hanzo has Ikaruga, Asuka and Hibari while all the Crimson girls are well liked by the fandom.
