characterization=development. I'm not going to fight over definitions. Even if you want to use a different definition you still don't deny it I see. I imagine you watch the EV VN segments already. Stop trying to make it seem like I'm the one moving goalposts. Even when talking about backstories, it's relatively weak. You can write off Yagyuu, Hibari, and Asuka as coming from normal families the way you handwave Gessen and Hebijo. Every character has a clear backstory and you just handwave two of the schools. I literally don't understand your bias against the other two schools, is it a console thing?
Hibari is one of the least popular characters. Are you kidding me? She's usually always at the bottom of polls since forever. I think Asuka may be well liked, people just like everyone else more. She isnt a lot of people's number 1 like Ikaruga. I mention Yumi and the Twins because they're massively popular. Shiki, Yozakura, Murasaki, Miyabi are relatively well liked. Imu and Minori are not. Hopefully that changes after EV. I hope Hibari gets more popular because she told Yagyuu to go away again in EV, big Hibari has never been popular. Ikaruga is really the only popular and she and Yomi share pretty much the exact same fanbase as the Yumi you hate. I mention again, you see Yomi and Ikaruga all over the promotional stuff in SK2 advertising just as much as Homura and Asuka.
5/5 of Crimson were in the top 10
4/5 of Hebijo were in the top 15
4/5 of Gessen were in the top 15
2/5 of Hanzo were in the top 15, getting to 4/5 at the top 19

What I don't understand is why you guys are making this thing go on. You won't change what you guys think about the series so why bother?
Keep suggesting things. It is a lot better for the topic.

Rehash as in redigging up the rival pairing stuff. It kind of limits the characters. Homura and Asuka are really the ones that it works best with because thats what I imagined they had in mind with making them, whereas interactions are usually just meh to cringe with Yomi/Ikaruga, Yagyuu/Mirai, and Haruka/Hibari. Haruka and Hibari less so I think because it's sort of cute how Haruka is basically her mom. Yomi/Ikaruga are just way too similar and SK2 is about learning how to not hate rich people and calling Ikaruga by her name. Ikaruga doesn't really benefit from the relationship at all and it's mostly a housewifetype character grouping for fanservice as you can see where they had the most promotional material for SK2. Yagyuu/Mirai is just a pair the spare that didn't have any thought whatsoever. The Hanzo characters certainly dont benefit from the pairing system whatsoever and they seem like they're probably the least developed group in the entire series outside of Asuka which is mostly done in Burst. All the development is kind of lopsided for the Crimson Squad more so in SK2. I think the reason they're the least popular group is because their characterization together is worse than Gessen's and Hebijo. I'd argue Ikaruga too because of the whole Murasame thing being better for her character in SK2. Hibari tells Yagyuu to go away in both SK2 and EV because she's sick of her which I guess is development. I simply don't seem them using that same system again, especially how really popular Yumi and the twins are, they may want to make a story with them in it and use a different format with the others that doesnt have to have 20 plus characters. Takaki said after SK2 came out or around it that the main characters and stuff can change. The games on the 3DS probably won't go away but most likely in BA type spin-offs because SK2 has been their biggest project so far and it was the least selling in the series and people here were freaking out about the series dying.4 5k is a good sell on the first week for this type of series but not necessarily good for profit depending on how much budget it had and how they are selling LE packs for 30 bucks three weeks after the game was released (I just bought one and they still have a ton of stock). And for a fanservice series, you want the fan service to improve and look better. The first thing in this that I find of is how much you seem to know about the story in SK2.Is this just some basic gist you got from someone else or do you actually know the games story? Everywhere I have gone, I get a huge blank. I wouldn't mind being enlightened a little. Please PM me what you know. I find your claims about the teams ludicrous. Hanzo weaker than Gessen? Really? Gessen literally had no group dynamic. They fight the Hanzo because Yumi said so. They fight the Hebijo because Yumi said so, they fight the Crimson Squad because Yumi said so. None of the characters even have any relationship with each other except arguably Shiki and Murakumo. I stopped taking you seriously right there. That had to be a joke, right? You can't use a poll to tell whether characters are liked or not, because people are more likely to choose the character they like most. Just because I like X character more, doesn't mean I don't like or even hate other characters. And looking at how more one-note the Gessen characters are compared to the rest,( Yozakura is "though-love-mama" Murakumo is the "shygirl" Minori is the "kid-who-never-grows-up"etc..) it makes sense that people who see any of those particular characteristics as appealing are going to resonate with one of those characters instead of the more balanced Hanzo characters. I doubt no one cares for the Hanzo, It's just they like other characters more. I'm not even gonna address the rest. enough has been said about the sales of the games. We don't know how expensive EV was yet. We can't properly judge how profitable it was for them. Also, why is it you mention the fan service improvements as if they somehow can't and haven't been improved on the 3DS? Also, if you think they are reluctant to put another game on the 3DS, why would they only put spinoffs on the 3DS? Why wouldn't they just not make any games for it? Can you explain this to me? This makes no sense to me. EDIT: Read the posts saying to stop. No need to reply.

Could you please stop writing your responses inside the quote bubble, ChaddyFantome? This is making it a bit more difficult to read what you have to say since it looks like your comment merged with the one you are responding to. To avoid this you can always change to the BB code type and write outside of the quote tag.

I know. Sometimes I get stuck, but since I'm very used to the bbcode used in forums I always find a way to avoid those problems.
Anyway. Let's keep suggesting.
I suggest a new game for the 3DS for the "main" series. But it has to be one that "closes" the franchise, so it can be come back again with other characters. This can give them more liberty to freely choose the console they will stick with for good to avoid any problems with console fidelity (since this is kind of a pain in this fandom).

This can give them more liberty to freely choose the console they will stick with for good to avoid any problems with console fidelity (since this is kind of a pain in this fandom). {In response to the bold} That seems silly to me. Console fidelity is a fandom thing, not a Marvelous thing. If Marvelous doesn't wanna make anymore 3DS games, it won't be because of console fidelity, and if they want to continue, it will be because they wanna. I know you mean well with this, but console fights are the scum of internet discussion. They are stupid, knee jerk reactions sustained by a person's primitive, unhealthy loyalty to the sticker attached to their piece of plastic.
Takaki himself never said that choice in console has anything to do with "the game belonging more on Sony" or "the game belonging on Nintendo". All those claims are just stupid misinformed propaganda by console purists. He himself said that the choice in based solely on what he wants to do with the game.
The first game came to be because of the 3DS's 3D feature. THE VITA game came out because of the VITA's power and resolution. Nothing more, nothing less. Even if they "made a last chapter in the current 3DS SK games, if Takaki and Marvelous wanted to make another game using the 3DS's 3D or whatever features the 3DS/N3DS has to offer, they are gonna do it. They'd just make a new series or something. They don't belong/choose a side because there are no sides. To the developer, it's just the tool they utilize to make they game they want to make.
Sorry for the tangent. I just can't stand console war garbage. It is just stupid. People act like developers are in a giant console competition and they "swear allegiance" to console developers, but the only fools that are pretending that is a thing are the children crying about what piece of plastic is better. In a couple years, consoles won't even be a thing anymore so whatever semblance of significance it has won't even be relevant anymore. ...woah, sorry..um,I..guess..I just had to get that out of my system... Let's just move on from here... So, how about adding Level gimmicks in future games? That discussion with Seventh got me thinking about it. In Burst, the beach level had those beachballs that you could move around, but ultimately did nothing. In EV, they have those bomb things that i am not sure how they work. They also introduced clothing wetness/transparency. What if , for example, hey introduced obstacles like fire spouts as traps in particular levels and they cause damage. This could burn parts of your outfit as well or something. Idk, something to think about.a

I understand and agree with your point. When I said that I was kind thinking about how I dislike this type of thing too. I personally hate console fidelity and this is something that should be annihilated in my opinion, but never will...
Anyway, I made some suggestions for the story of future games. Did you see them in the other pages? I wanted to see more opinions about them. If you have any questions about them feel free to ask.
The beachballs helped with filling the Shinobi Transformation/Hidden Ninpo bar like any other interactible object in the enviroment in that game, by the way. I noticed that when I was replaying the game recently.

I noticed that when I was replaying the game recently. I didn't know this about the beachballs. Thanks for telling me! I really like your idea of having then challenge the current shinobi system. It actually makes sense following Katsuragi's character that she would have to do this at some point. Hmm.. Maybe I am being a bit zealous here, but I , personally would like to see all of the original girls graduate and enter the professional world of shinobi, partially because I think the group is strongest when they are together. Maybe there could be a villainous team that is trying to take down the ninjacouncil itself. They send in ninja to stop them, but through fighting, we learn they have a good reason for what they are doing. ....Oh, my , god! I am so upset now..... You know what? The GessenGirls would have made MUCH MUCH better villains than playable characters.... Imagine it! A group of renegade ninjas set out on eliminating evil ninja, destroying the ninja councit and rebuilding it in their image. The Hanzo and Crimson girls would fight them, but over time, learn to sympathies with some of what they are saying. Seeing some of the faults in the system, they ultimately fight back the ninja council. And the best part? It ties back into the "good and evil aren't that different" teachings we got from the first game and puts it to use! Aww maaaaaaaaaannnn ... what a wasted opportunity.... I don't care! this needs to happen!!! D:< EDIT: On a side note, it would allow Yumi to be in the game without overcrowding the cast or making the story too draggy and repetitive. =P

Well despite what I said before in the topic what I really want is to have them all graduated, so... yeah... I kind of agree with you.
And all the ideas I had for Katsuragi was following her character. Considering that the people who played the games after Burst say that her character got too much into the trope of having her groping every single boob in the world I think that giving her a bit more of things (like the ones I suggested preferably) would be very nice for her character and presence in the franchise.
Of course I don't want them to remove her trait of being perverted and carefree, but giving something else is always nice too.
And I should say that most of the time I don't feel like helping the topic much since the only game I had the oportunity to play in the franchise was Senran Kagura Burst. I need a Vita to play Shinovi Versus and to play other games to get a true veredict of what should be done next.

I wouldn't suggest getting VITA for just SV though. It's quite an expensive system and the library is kind of limited. I would suggest doing what I did and looking up other games on the system before making your purchase. The game does give some nice little development to Kastu so there is that. Overall, I'd say the game is a step sideways. It does some things good and some things bad, but even though I find I enjoyed Burst as a whole more than SV as a whole, I still liked it overall and had a good time. =P Well, I didn't like Gessen much but that'd up to you xDOn another note, as a suggestion for the series, can we get the Burst aerial raves back, please? In Burst, the more you do an aerial rave, the faster it got, making it harder to keep the rave going. In future games, ...they removed that completely.

I won't get the Vita just for SK. I can say I have more reasons to get a Vita than I had to get a 3DS. I bought a 3DS just for Pokemon. For the Vita I want Persona 4 Golden, Dragon's Crown, God Eater, Killzone, Uncharted, Shinovi Versus, Estival Versus and the list goes on (and I should add that I don't have a PS3, so this system is perfect for me since I prefer protable systems).
And this system is specially expensive here in Brazil. I know what I am doing.
The aerial raves doesn't exist anymore? That's sad. I'm with you. That mechanic was awesome beyond belief.

Aerial raves still exist in SV, though the speed for them doesn't increase the longer it lasts like Burst, based on what Chaddy is saying. SV is the only SK game I've played so far, so I don't know firsthand as to what it's like in Burst.
