NOTE: This doesn't refer to any one of you on here; nor am I trying to antagonize any of you. I just want to share some thoughts and all that jazz.
So recently; I've been seeing a lot of heated debates on SIA about this and that - namely with girls and gameplay and such. And well...to be perfectly honest, while I have no qualms of an opinion (even if it's stupid and really biased at times), I just think all of this constant debating and arguing getting more and more heated by the first thing is just getting on my nerves. Oh, and the "OH MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN YOUR OPINION" card some like to pull out. It's pretentious moves like this that piss me off, as well as a lot of people that are genuinely honest and try to keep their patience.
Yes, SK isn't perfect. But why are we constantly bickering and bitching over useless shit like how a girl's body is swapped or something of that matter? Can we just go "eh" and walk away from the scene?
Seriously, folks. What the fuck happened? I might get called out for this, but I had to get this out of my system one way or another.

I love heated discussions because it shows people care about the series rather than just eating everything given. I dont like hugboxes.

I tend to avoid heated ones. I say my piece and then watch over. Although, it does get annoying having to deal with people trying to one up one another. If you want to get heated, take it in the PMs. Be considerate for others that aren't involved.

Such is the nature of fandoms and forums, really. People are always gonna conflict on opinions, and more often than not individuals will think their opinion to be better than another's.
However, I do agree with leanmean. Heated discussions do show the love for a series. Maybe it'll express change, sadness, satisfaction, etc. They're a good thing, they're healthy. They can inform someone, maybe build new views on a subject, and so much more. They're totally fine as long as you don't cross the line and act like a douche to one another.
Even then, we can agree on a lot of things as well.
Like Katsu being best girl. Right guys?
Right?

These heated discussions make me happy to be part of the SK community since it shows that people are indeed dedicated instead of just having a passing interest.

I get that they could show the love and passion for the series, but don't you think that they can get a bit out of hand at times? Especially if it's a topic that's been gone over multiple times? I would like to avoid unnecessary fighting as much as possible for the other members. It isn't fair for them to have to sit through all of it.
I'm fine if it's just a regular argument cause we all have different opinions, but when it gets to the point that it's just people trying to one up one another and the argument lasted for a good amount of pages, then the discussion isn't fun anymore. Do you guys get what I mean?

After going to bed and then waking up to this, I realized that I overreacted a bit here.
What my point is that I just didn't want SIA to explode into fucking drama and have everyone be hostile and such, talking shit behind backs and acting like douches to those that just enjoy the series casually as a whole.
And I agree with Leon here; I'd at least avoid unnecessary fighting and such. With some of that popping up lately with people trying to one-up their opponent in debates is just ridiculous and chidish. Takes the feel of a heated debate away, y'knoW what I mean?

With some of that popping up lately with people trying to one-up their opponent in debates Well, that is the entire point of a debate. Still, I do think heated debate is a good thing. Especially on writing and stuff. Sure, stuff like Yumi will come up again and again, but you guys need to realize something. That is the nature of a fandom on forums. If a developer does something over and over without change, the fandom discusses it over and over. That, and well, pre-release people usually get into debates about stuff cause we don't have a game to play yet, heheh. The only other thing worth saying is that, well, you dont really need to worry about people getting out of hand, since there's myself, Leon, and Dai lurking. And if people don't wanna participate in that discussion, try breaking the tension with another subject, or contact a mod if its really getting out of hand.

I admit, I feel like I freaked out over nothing and such. I just stay behind the line and such; namely because I'm a chickenshit at debating lol.

Maybe i'm just being over protective since the debates i've seen on forums, particularly NISA, leads to name calling and like 10 pages of nothing but debating.

I came from the Smash and Gears of War community Leon. Believe me I know all about people acting like assholes LOL. The only thing I can really say is not to worry about being over-protective until there's a member who notably starts problems in the mix, or it does actually get out of hand.

Yeah. For now, I'll partake in the discussions and then bring out the mod powers when necessary.

Guess I should put my two cents seeing that I'm pretty much the reason debates got popular on the forum.
As others as pointed out, the whole motivation for my constant discussion with everyone stems from honest passion for the series not a desire for trolling. I've always been quite expressive and defensive of my opinions and unless I'm presented with an argument without holes I won't change my mind, ever. I apologize if that sours some people on commenting here

People started writing walls of text and in that wall they.lose there original point rather then posting and waiting for a response.
