This is probably a subject nobody expected to come up, but I still think is worth discussing. Should the series continue after Ikaruga and Katsuragi (and on that note, Yumi, Murakumo, Miyabi, and Imu) have graduated? If you want my opinion, then I'm going to have to be completely frank and say that personally, I think that the answer to that question would be no. I don't think they should try that. At least, not with the original cast, anyway. If they do decide to continue past that point, I really do think that it should be sort of a reboot with all new characters, similar to Street Fighter III or Garou: Mark of the Wolves, if that makes any sense.
The reason for this is that I really do feel like Senran Kagura is bigger than any single character and that each of them is simply one part of a whole. If even one is missing, then it's just not the same. I really think the third-years graduating should be where the series ends. It also should only come after the king of yoma is finally destroyed. Final battle first, and then graduation. I simply don't think it would work if the original characters aren't all together. Or maybe it could, but they would to figure the whole group dynamics out again. They would have to figure out how to portray Hanzo Academy's group without Ikaruga and Katsuragi, plus how to portray Yomi without Ikaruga, (which I can't imagine if I'm being honest) plus Gessen without Yumi and Murakumo, plus Hebijo without Miyabi and Imu, and any other group that goes through a change, they'd have to figure out all over again, and I really do feel like it would just be too much for it to be worth it in the end.
If any of these characters ever have to leave, then it might as well not be Senran Kagura anymore.

I think they should move on. I want to see the world that SV tease us with so we can meet new characters that graduated from Hanzo, Gessan & hebijo.
As for Timeskip game... Garou:Mark of the Wolves is the only timpeskip game that successful. Pulling that off will be tough. Bringing back Asuka & Yumi(Age 37 & 38) will do. The other characters can be replace with their daughter or new characters.

I like the idea of seeing characters age and grow and roles change. I'd be fine with year or two aging or a full time skip for a new generation with old characters into their 20s. I'd still want the old characters to be playable in some capacity as come attached to them.

So I really think it should end after the characters graduate. There's too much that would need to be figured out again, and honestly, I really think that each and every one of the characters introduced in the first game is indispensable. If they were to try to do it without all of them, I really think some or all of the magic would be lost, and frankly, that's not desirable.

This has actually come up before, Takaki himself touched on it saying he'd like to make a game some time focused on Katsuragi and Ikaruga after they graduate. I, for one, would love to see some post-grad stuff. Schools fighting against each other will get old eventually, so its good to try new things and see what you can do. If they decide to do so, I think the best option is to kick it forward like 2-3 years, 5 at most.
It could go a bit deeper on the yoma topic, thats for sure, since it wouldn't have any school activities left.

Hell yeah! Switch it up! We can get post-graduation Katsuragi and Ikaruga doing ninja stuff, we can also get a prequel from when Hanzo and Sayuri were young, I'm open for it all.
At this point I'm in a position where I'm very unsure of whether I'll get the new action game if they don't switch it up enough somehow. Also why PBS seems fun, because the gameplay will be different.
I don't know if it'll sell as well, but I'm sure I'll love stuff like that.

I'm 100% for this idea. Seeing the character mature into graduates, would be amazing! there's no reason for them to just disappear, (Homura's squad is doing just fine out of school) I think it would only make things more interesting. the focus could be on the juniors and new wave of students at hebi gessen and hanzo academy. Asuka's squad could be handling more serious situations. If done right it could be great for the series.

I would love for this to happen. Seeing them on actual missions (wearing more than school uniforms before transforming) and seeing how they develop would be awesome. It would also be a pretty good excuse to introduce the New Wave girls to the main franchise.

If they do decide to continue after graduation, I still feel like they should start over with a new cast of characters. There's only so far you can take the original cast. I also don't like the idea of bringing New Wave characters into canon, either. I think it sounds uncreative. Which is why I would prefer to see a new cast of characters post-graduation, if the series were to continue past that point at all. New leads, new location, new story arc, it would need to stand on its own and not rely on stuff from before.

Personally, I'm all for the girls graduating and making way for a new generations of shinobi. Just because they graduate doesn't mean they'll disappear. They'll be around but they'll just be doing more serious missions. While they're handling that, the new generations can handle new problems that may come up among themselves. Also, it could help make the story more overarching.

A lot of people like to say that there isn't a more serious, overarching storyline, but I really feel like it is actually there. Neither SV nor EV gave all the answers in their stories, and I really feel like the priority should be on expanding on what we have first. Another point I was trying to make here, one that seems to fly right over everybody, is that while I would indeed be happy to see more, I feel like, after a certain point, it will eventually be time to give the series a definitive ending. Mainly, I'd be glad if they didn't just keep making them and beat the franchise into the ground. We don't need the series to go on for years and years, and when it finally does end, I think it should be on the best note possible. Graduation would be a better chance to provide a satisfying ending than any other, so I think that chance should be taken.

There is an overarching story, in the sense that there's continuity between the games, for certain. And no, not everything has been answered yet, but not everything needs to be imo. Many things could also be answered in such a post-graduation game. Honestly, TyrantTrickster posted something about a SK stealth game before. Post-graduation Ikaruga and Katsuragi doing stealth missions, figuring out dark secrets behind the I don't know what, choosing to save the world or bring it into ruins? Obviously, their initial ideas about right and wrong will be challenged again, perhaps they will have to fight old classmates or old friends for justice, or maybe it won't be justice..? Storywise, graduation has so many possibilities, and it also allows them to break free from the now already tried and done school/faction setting with the same character interactions they started with. They could even take the budget up and go for a slightly more mature (less cartoony) look to it, but that may be just because I recently played Ninja Gaiden and I started wondering what the SK characters would look like in that style (as opposed to Ayane in SK style). Ayane looked way cooler in SK than she did in Ninja Gaiden so maybe that's a no lol

A big problem for me personally is that I don't think that Senran Kagura is a series that needs to or should continue for years and years into eternity. It simply never seemed to me like it had that kind of staying power. The way I see it, they could probably do two more installments after PBS, but after that, it might be a good idea to stop. As much as I would like to see it become an iconic franchise like Mario or Sonic, that may be asking for too much, and I'm more worried about it ending up like Kingdom Hearts.

In reference to KH, as someone who doesn't play it, do you mean like infinite games that lead to nothing? 'Cause thats what spin offs are for. Not to mention all the NW characters, there's a wellspring of characters and potential plots to cook up. They could even step away from the primary 5 groups for a while and focus a few on the NW girls if they wanted. That or prequel stuff with Dai and Rin, a spin off game about Hanzo and Sayuri, a bunch of spin off games with no real relevance like Bon Appetit, and so on.

Yes I'd love to see Kat and Ikaruga go graduating also time to shine for the New Wave G girls of hebijo to get to the main roster as well as the 1st years of Hanzo and have some exposure. Crimson Squad has no problem since they're now renegades. Daidoji is the best example, she already graduated in her shinobi hearts, but still staying at Hanzo academy for Yoma battles/Rin's rivalry and other reasons.
