I follow some Japanese pre-order charts and guess what showed up for first time today? Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus! Got me thinking do a countdown and poll for sales expectations as the big release date comes. Keep in mind, this is one indicator and gives close but not exact numbers for releases. I was thinking update every so often to check on progress. Something to keep in mind Senran Kagura first week: ~50K Senran Kagura Burst first week: ~69K So, will the series go from strength to strength and increase another 10-20K? Will it have mixed or even negative issues due to being on Vita? Please cast a vote (no rush, can wait a while) and explain your rationale.

I'm guessing between 45 and 60k. I'm sure the Vita in Japan is doing better than other countries, hell the PSP still sells over there and is getting new games all the time. I can see this getting a number of sales (and even increasing sales of the console like it did for the 3DS) due to the anime and people who're fans of the series.
I'm not sure if it'll do better than the other two games though. Playstation has always been a more mature brand so I can see this doing well because more teenagers/young adults own one whereas Nintendo and the 3DS, whilst it's trying to appeal to a more mature userbase, still has that stigma of being a children's company with Mario and Animal Crossing, etc. However, I just have a feeling it'll stay around that 50-60k mark that the other two achieved. I'd love to be proved wrong, I really would.

It is hard to tell, right now my instinct is split the difference between the first two 3DS games and say 61K. As you mention the PSP is stll going strong with titles upcoming titles like "Fate/Extra" or "Boobies Paradise" (nice name that!)
This chart will show any trends, but for next week or so I expect little movement besides Dragon Quest VII inevitable domination coming to fruition.

45-60k, it's released on a very busy day with another musou title and several big name games including Macross 30. Although there is the fact that it's sold out on Amazon Japan, in which it could possibly go in the 70k range.

I going out on a limb and go 90k and up. I know it sounds crazy but the CM's on the TV show can push it there and if the show is not that bad that can help. Just can't think of the risk of bringing the game to the Vita with out a prediction it would do better numbers on a platform that are use to these games and a platform that can't be picky about high profile games.
Lets see now if the international Vita owners really put there money where there mouth is.

Release on the same date as Sangoku Musou 7 is a pretty bad choice, I'd say 30k - 45k.

If Vita owners want the games to keep coming they better step fourth and show it. Opening week is pretty big if you are testing the waters on a new system and new demographic of players.

Also, looking at the price of 8799 yen I was taken aback. That's over a hundred US dollars!! The other Vita title listed is roughly half that price. I am not sure if this is 100% accurate, but wonder how it will affect sales and if they need as many sales to turn a profit at that price.

That's the price for Shinovi Versus Limited Edition. Guess almost no one getting the normal version? Sangoku Musou 6 sold over 250,000 units in its first week. 7 is a huge improvement over 6. Maybe more, maybe less.

Maybe more, maybe less. That makes sense, but usually they list LEs as separate items. Plenty of time to see some big changes.
