www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/28/wii-u-price-drop-confirmedWith the line up of Nintendo's first party games, plus some 3rd party along the price cut and right before the Holiday season, I'd say Nintendo will likely be fine for right now. If things go swimmingly more 3rd party developers may become more interested in developing for the Wii U. I hope this works out for Nintendo. Your thoughts guys?

Did you see the sales for wonderful 101? Third party support is done. 2DS will replace this system and they will phase this out.

Wonderful 101 is not Third party, they funded it and weren't expecting that game to sell well in Japan from day 1. The 2DS is for small children who can't use the 3D function. Please don't jump to conclusions.

I dunno......that price cut for the Wii U is fantastic, but I'm still not interested and I'm not sure what could possibly sell me on it. Smash Bros? I'll just buy it for the 2DS. <_<;

I just said they weren't expecting good sales for W101 in the first place, Kamiya's games have always had a poor track record in Japan, so they would naturally have more faith in Wind Waker HD above all else. On top of that, it was the only game in the line up that was unfamiliar with most of the fanbase. And say what you want about my sig, but I always back up my claims with a logical deduction and I'm never afraid to stand up for what I believe is the right answer. I have criticized Nintendo before, I saw the discontinuation of the basic model and the imminent deluxe model price drop coming a mile away, and I even said the basic model was a stupid idea.

So if you know the game won't sell why fund it? also...
3DS, 3DSXL, 2DS... not confusing at all. I thought 3 came after 2. They are lucky the have pokemon to push this but after that LOL!
and what about the Wii U I thought that was the new system?

This whole thing can be likened to the 3DS ordeal where a price cut and resurgence of games were the only things that helped tremendously. But if it's too similar, it would blow my mind to hell and back to see the PS4 struggle as badly as the Vita, though I'm not counting on that happening.

So seeing that they dropped 3d from the 3ds will people wait out on the wiiu until they drop the gamepad before they pick one up? The 2DS isn't a replacement; It's for toddlers and soccer moms. They can't get rid of the gamepad because having a second screen actually works for Nintendo.

I really hope they won't get rid of the gamepad. I have such high hopes for its functionality. ;_;
