Should be titled Japanese publishers devs can't move without them and digital is not an option like the western indie scene.

I'll add that Japanese Devs don't even understand Japanese gamers, Bandai-Namco is one of the worst offenders, just look how they handle the Idolm@ster series, they are milking the same cast over and over in their console versions all while a potential gold mine in the Cinderella Girls is sitting there mobile only. Idolmaster Cinderella Girls is more popular the main series, fact, Idolmaster Million Live is growing in popularity, fact, if they were in the console versions, you would another 100k seller easy, fact. Stop sitting on popular characters and utilize them in all games in your franchise.
Other things Japanese devs need to improve on
Embracing the PC, for a very long time until Indies were mainstream, the biggest reason I didn't embrace PC gaming was the extreme lack of Eastern made titles. There are no unique single player RPGs made by Eastern developers on PC, all you have are MMOs, and there's a lack of other genres such as platforming, what I see in PC release lists are 95% Eroge, it's like the PC is the Red Light District of gaming in Japan and it shouldn't only be that, this is not the days of the PC-98 and even then the PC-98 had games to suit all tastes, things have changed since the 90's, purify it by making games in genres all Japanese would love to play not just eroge/VN Otaku. It's time PC gains popularity in Japan with the mainstream gamers.
Embrace Indie/doujin games and put the games on both PC and console/handhelds, these games can be pretty good, If I seen some on the PSN, I'd buy some if they were good. Also, if digital is not an option for these, Sony and Nintendo should let them make the games available physically for a discounted price
Pipe down on the social development, contrary to popular belief, mobile is hated by a lot of Japanese for a variety of reasons from the business models to the content. Same with browser games, it's time for that to slow down, it's killing the Eastern gaming market with many of them being nothing but cash grabs with poor gameplay. Also, this kind of gaming is making the Eastern gaming industry look bad to the international community.

As I said early NB is a publisher not a single dev called NB. the devs don't make decisions on where to put the series they don't have the rights too. PC goes no where because Japanese gamers don't care if they don't care then pubs don't care again it don't matter if the devs are all pro PC guys they don't make the call on any of this its publisher and consumer with devs in the middle catching the blame for everything.

Do western devs and pubs understand Japanese gamers? Or is it because they are at the top they don't need too?
Seems to be the case of why should I understand you if you don't understand me.

Whoever makes the decisions on that series should realize these facts and implement the solutions above to the console games. Is there any other reason (other than the misconception that PC is expensive) why PC isn't popular with Japanese gamers?

Lol you know why they do it, mobile is cheaper and brings in more money and can be done in half the time and staff. If you was In the business you would do the same thing if you job was to turn a profit.

But having them in the console releases won't hurt the mobile games and it may get more people into them, want more money market parts of the IP to other forms of media. It's a win-win for them.
