100000 sales are good for a game like this. I think that the ps4 version will have a good success in the West.

I don't know if anyone's pointed it out, but the past two weeks, or just last week, was during the whole "back to school" period for Japanese students, so that could have impacted sales somewhat and slowed them down.

Yeah, it obviously affected everything seeing the top sell only sold like 20000

Highly unlikely, there's only two weeks with sales worse than this one, one on 2003 and another on 1997, traditionally the first week of May is the slow one and even then, isn't set on stone:
2003-05-12 [GBA] Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken - 15,426 / 190,904 2015-04-06 [PS4] Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin - 16,047 / 16,047 2011-05-09 [NDS] Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 Professional - 17,995 / 400,736 2000-05-15 [N64] Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - 18,571 / 542,443

It's not likely that a bunch of major releases just came out, or it's not likely that people are going back to school now? Those are all facts.

Is not likely that the low, low sales this past weeks are tied to people returning to school.

Yeah, school doesn't cost money and doesn't take up time or anything. And I didn't also suggest that other games could be a factor here considering how many came out when this did, and that's still not taking into consideration how this is a fairly niche series yet still outsold almost all entries that came before it - but somehow we're talking as if things went badly for it.

If school were a factor then low sales would be the norm on these dates and as the numbers show, this isn't the case. And being a niche series having a healthy shelf life is more important in the long run since it implies the fanbase is growing.

A year ago this time. "Generally poor sales week."Top three sellers: [3DS] Yokai Watch (Level-5, 07/11/13) – 34,690 (754,910) [PS3] 3rd Super Robot Wars Z: Jigoku Hen (Bandai Namco, 04/10/14) – 31,724 (174,156) [PS4] Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (Square Enix, 04/14/14) – 31,326 (New) Hardware: PlayStation Vita – 17,905 (24,078) PlayStation 4 – 14,396 (13,034) 3DS LL – 14,023 (17,291) The equivalent a couple of weeks before.Top three sellers: [PSV] Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd (Sega, 03/27/14) – 98,628 (New) [3DS] Mario Party: Island Tour (Nintendo, 03/20/14) – 78,098 (210,767) [PS3] Hatsune Miku Project Diva F 2nd (Sega, 03/27/14) – 59,965 (New) Hardware: 3DS LL – 52,124 (28,291) PlayStation Vita – 39,752 (35,374) PlayStation 4 – 23,327 (30,201) Let's do 2013: Before:Top sellers: [3DS] Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (Nintendo, 03/21/13) – 110,840 (390,991) [PSP] Fate/Extra CCC (Marvelous AQL, 03/28/13) – 72,883 (New) [3DS] Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Nintendo, 11/08/12) – 57,835 (2,976,228) Hardware: 3DS LL – 38,442 (40,924) PlayStation Vita – 31,795 (41,073) 3DS – 28,538 (35,629) Immediately after:Top sellers: [3DS] Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon (Nintendo, 03/21/13) – 68,423 (459,413) [3DS] Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Nintendo, 11/08/12) – 49,140 (3,025,368) [PS3] One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 (Namco Bandai, 03/21/13) – 26,878 (367,959) Hardware: 3DS LL – 34,180 (38,442) 3DS – 22,684 (28,538) PlayStation Vita – 19,328 (31,795) There is pretty clearly a drop in this time period. It's not as noticeable every time and I admittedly couldn't find the best links, but I think it's fair to say between the end of the fiscal year bringing a lot of big releases at once along with school starting soon after, sales dropping either to some extent or to a large extent doesn't seem to be all that strange. Much as I'm loathe to quote the site, even Siliconera seems to think school is a factor in dropping numbers.

Those numbers show than more school being a factor, is the entire industry hitting a wall.
Two years ago the numbers on those week were more than the double this year and the past year were the double.

If you ask me, that's why you shouldn't be comparing straight numbers in the first place, but percentages, if anything, and the percentages all line up - regardless of what the "high" was for that year compared to others, there's a clear drop after that point. Looking at just numbers ignores far too much context for my liking, but since next to no website wants to look at anything but numbers, not much you can do.

As much as I love the Vita and believe that it is the ideal handheld for this series, if Marvelous wants to see SK continue to grow outside of Japan they may want to stick with Sony only for the PS4 and use the 3DS as the primary handheld. The inclusion of a PS4 version has already dampened the chances of the vita version doing well when it gets localized in it's already struggling Western market.
Take Dead or Alive 5 Plus for example (vita version of original DOA5). Game was a fantastic port (great graphics, held a solid 60fps, online crossplay with the PS3 version, and even included some temporary exclusives). It had all the ingredients for success especially for a fighting game that was fairly popular on the PS3/360. Well much to TN's dismay it didn't do well (has sold 0.1M units total as of last month). They pulled out of the Vita market quickly and the handheld unfortunately has not seen a single update since (they're now focusing on PS4/X1/PC). Dead or Alive Dimensions on the other hand was a 3DS exclusive and although inferior in pretty much all aspects imo to 5+ (don't get me wrong it's still a fun game) the total sold is 0.36M.
Deep Crimson's release this summer I think will determine whether or not they will continue the 3DS route but if they really focused on the handheld (including ALL of the girls so that players don't feel gimped) it could go further.
