This isn't too much of a problem as it says at this time, they will most likely want to see how it performs and whether there is a suitable demand elsewhere. Plus if I'm not mistaken this is region free so you could import if you were desperate.

Not to mention, to be fair, we're getting the PS4 first before they do so we're equal now.

Aw. Well, maybe a year from now we will see if we have any hope of seeing it released in the west.

It should happen one way or another, Sony doesn't really say a complete no when it comes to consoles and handhelds.

I only brought up the article because it didn't seem like everyone was generally aware of it, not to do it out of spite or anything.
Vita is region free, and Vita TV will most likely be too if you wish to import it.(geez no wonder play-asia stays in business)
PS4 is released in NA/EU first...I think there is a clear reason though...look at the launch titles in the West vs the Launch list in Japan and you can see why the Japanese push theirs back(Xbox One is Xboned in Japan).
The realization of the Japanese marketing their products for their region specifically is the biggest issue with a being a Japanese Culture Connoisseur...so in reality this should be chalked off as "another imported item" than anything else for the time being.

Damn, that explains a lot. A crap ton of western games. I guess Sony wants to please both East and West. East (Japan) can get their handhelds and japanese games first, while the west (NA and EU (Us)) gets the console and western games
